Zane joined the NOVOMATIC Group in 2007, spending almost a year at the global headquarters in Austria in international sales before locating to the UK to take the helm as Managing Director of Astra Games. The years that followed were defined by both acquisitive and organic growth and saw the formation of Astra Gaming Group, later to become NOVOMATIC UK.
Zane successfully negotiated the acquisition and oversaw the integration of the Bell-Fruit Group, including RLMS Sales and Mazooma Interactive Games (later to become Greentube UK). The deal also included the acquisition of the largest UK gaming machine operator, Gamestec, from a New York based hedge fund. This was followed by the acquisition of the Nobles chain of Adult Gaming Centres, subsequently re-branded as Luxury Leisure, with the customer-facing brand ‘Admiral Gaming.’
In 2015 NOVOMATIC UK acquired Playnation, a company involved in the operation of family leisure and social gaming products in holiday parks and motorway services. Following that, the acquisition of the Talarius chain of AGC’s from Australia’s Tatts Group in 2016 catapulted NOVOMATIC UK into the position of the UK’s leading AGC operator.
Zane is also involved with much of what NOVOMATIC does in the internet gaming space in the UK. Operating B2B, B2C, mobile and desktop, Greentube specialises in real money and social gaming products. Currently, Novomatic UK has revenues of nearing £300m and more than 3,800 full time employees.
Zane is anticipating a productive two days at the Summit: “The EUROMAT Summit is an important meeting place that brings together key stakeholders from European Gaming to focus on the current and future state of our industry. NOVOMATIC UK is pleased to support such an event where best practices are discussed for operators, players, manufacturers, regulators and the industry as a whole,” reveals Zane.
