Agora sale is completed

Baker Tilly has successfully agreed the sale of 99 leasehold properties of the quartetof major gaming centre companies that formed part of the Agora Gaming Group to Minmar (929) Ltd and Baleday Ltd.

Agora Gaming Group was the leading adult gaming centre operator in the UK and the parent company for four subsidiary organisations; Ablethird Ltd, Frankice Golders Green Ltd (formerly MK North London Ltd), Leisure World UK Ltd (formerly Galaxy Gaming Ltd) and Caesar’s World Ltd, all of which entered into administration on 7th December 2009. Major gaming centres within the combined portfolio included units in Lewisham and Aldershot.

Administrator and Baker Tilly partner, David Hudson, said: “As administrator, I am delighted that a sale has been secured for the entire trading portfolio, which will safeguard 440 jobs and enable the entire estate to continue to trade under new ownership.”

Edward Symmons LLP was appointed by the administrator as agent on the portfolio.

Colin White, partner, Edward Symmons LLP, comments: “With the business having entered into administration in December 2009, we were pleased to secure a sale within the year in what has been a depressed market. This is a clear sign of the strong market interest for such substantial leisure investment opportunities; 180 parties registered interest in the portfolio and some 35 offers were made for purchase.”
