Ken O’Byrne (28th Feb 1946 – 3rd April 2013)

Coin-op Community would like to pass on this statement from JNC Sales:

It is with regret that we announce the sad passing of Ken O’Byrne on Wednesday 3rd April 2013.  Ken will be a much missed colleague and friend by all at JNC Sales where he worked for the last 6 years.

Ken had a number of senior positions within the amusements industry. He started his career at Music Hire before moving on to Bell Fruit North Central in Warrington. He then moved on to Pay Master and then to PCM where he successfully built up the company before selling it to Bass. After a time at Associated Leisure, he then became the owner of Solney Automatics and then as a consultant at Crown. Ken joined Crown in May 1997 and left in April 2004. Ken then joined JNC Sales as a consultant in November 2006. Ken has been a regular at the ATE/EAG exhibitions and many overseas shows, and will be missed by all that have met him or spoken with him.

Whilst at JNC Sales, Ken developed a number of business relationships, particularly in the export market, and was a great communicator. Ken was a tenacious and thorough person, and made sure that he did the best job he could. It was not uncommon for Ken to be online at 6 O’clock in the morning, even when on holiday. Ken worked from home in Staffordshire, and his regular phone calls to the office are already being missed.

At this very sad time, all at JNC Sales would like to pass on our deepest condolences to his wife Elaine, son Andrew, and the rest of his family. We would also ask Ken’s customers not to contact his landline telephone number as this was a personal house number. Please contact 01179 382552 in the future.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be finalised but as soon as they are known, we will advise.
