Cashino in Widnes in second attack

A Cashino amusement arcade in Widnes has been targeted by knife-wielding robbers for the second time in less than two weeks.

The latest incident at Cashino in Albert Road took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

At around 12.30am the offender, who was armed with a knife, entered the premises and demanded cash from the two members of staff. There was also a customer inside at the time.

He went into the office with one worker and stole a large quantity of cash from the safe before fleeing the scene – towards the town centre.

On Saturday, November 3, a man also armed with a knife threatened members of staff and customers with a kitchen knife before leaving with cash.

Officers believe the incidents are connected and say they are currently carrying out a number of enquiries.
