Stuart Keane Charity Golf Day in Leeds, August 24

Calling all golfers! Stuart Keane is once again organising a Golf Day with his step son Mark in support of The Sheffield Institute Foundation’s Research into Motor Neurone Disease (SITraN). This amazing facility is also researching Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, SMA (a children’s form of MND) and other neurological disorders. As many of you know, Stuart is dedicated to raising funds for this cause in memory of his son, Shaun, who died of Motor Neurone Disease.

The Queen & the Duke of Edinburg opened the SITraN building  in November 2010, but to maximize the new facilities the Patrons need to raise a further one million pounds for each of the next five years- This will enable Professor Pam Shaw and her fabulous team of doctors and scientists to slow down the horrors of these diseases and to eventually find a cure.

The 4th Annual Golf Day will take place on Friday the 24th of August at Leeds Golf Club, Cobble Hall, Leeds; the home of the Leeds Cup – the oldest trophy in professional golf. The event will be attended by a number of stellar guests, including professional Duncan Muscroft entering a team from Italy, John Cawley from Ireland and Billy Bremner Jnr (the son of the late Leeds & Scotland foonballer) entering a team from Germany, making the event truly International. The latest entry Is Mike Holliday, who many years ago whilst doing his national service with the R.A.F in Germany, got permission from his C.O. to enter the Germany Amateur, and he went on to win it. Rodney Foster, the former Walker Cup Player and Captain has also expressed an interest to be invited.

There are many ways to get involved – either by entering a team or by sponsoring. Please contact us at Coin-op Community or Stuart direct for more details
