AWPs are poor relation says survey

The Survey on Gambling Participation, published by the Gambling Commission in October confirms what the industry already knew – fewer players are choosing AWPs over other forms of gambling.

The survey shows that over the year to September 2010 the most popular gambling activity was the National Lottery draw (45.0% of respondents), followed by tickets for society or other good cause lotteries (10.7%) and National Lottery scratchcards (10.1%). Betting on horse races, private betting and gaming with family and friends, and the football pools were the next most popular activities (3.4%, 3.1% and 3.1% respectively).

Fruit machines trailed behind at just 2.7% down from 3.3% on the previous year.
