Jim Godden Memorial Trust announced

Jimmy Godden set up a trust for cancer charities before he died. His widow Rochelle (pictured with him) announced the memorial trust a week after he died of the disease aged just 66.

Jimmy battled stomach cancer for 2 years – despite only being given 9 months to live when he was diagnosed.

Rochelle said his final wish was to set up the Jim Godden Memorial Trust. She said, “Jim was a good man, a great husband and a loving father. I know he wanted to do something for other people in his position and that was the idea of the trust.

Rochelle – who married Jimmy, her partner of 24 years, after his diagnosis two years ago, added: “Jim had vision. He didn’t want anything that was easy and everything had to be a challenge. He was also very generous, supporting causes, but he rarely did them in his own name.”

Donations, if desired, to the Jim Godden Memorial Trust c/o W.J. Farrier & Son, 37 Bouverie Road  West, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2SZ.  01303 245500
