Another great gone: Jimmy Jones MBE 1939-2012


Jimmy Jones MBE, former operator of Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, died on Tuesday aged 73.

Mr. Jones who was also former director and vice-chairman of Norwich City football club in the 1980s died at The Heart Hospital in London – he had heart and kidney problems.

He leaves a widow Jane, son Albert, daughter Elizabeth and six grandchildren.

Albert Jones, who now runs the Pleasure Beach paid tribute to his father saying: “He touched so many people’s lives. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He did a lot of work for the local community and he loved football. It was his real passion.”
