Nobles to sell Brighton Pier

The Noble Group is selling Brighton Pier and its amusement arcades, bars, shops and restaurant, after 25 years.

The Grade II* listed venue is being sold by its owners, the Noble Group, the leisure and amusement arcade operator, alongside the entertainment business on the pier.

The Noble Group says it wants to focus on other opportunities. It will sell the entire share capital Brighton Marine Palace & Pier Company, which was set up in 1888 to operate the pier.

David Biesterfield, Noble’s development director, told The Financial Times: “Brighton Pier is unique: a dynamic, modern business based on and sustaining our heritage. Since 1984, Brighton Pier has re-established itself as one of the UK’s leading attractions in one of the country’s most popular and forward looking city resorts.”
