Commission fines 2 LBOs

The Gambling Commission has formally warned two licensed operators, both trading as Oddsit Bookmakers, and imposed financial penalties totalling £7,000 for breaching conditions of their operating licences. This follows a licence review under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005.

On 16 December 2010 the Commission’s Regulatory Panel was asked to consider a review of two operating licences in light of alleged breaches of specific licence conditions. The Panel decided to issue the operators with a warning, attach a condition to the operating licences and impose financial penalties totalling £7,000.

The two licence holders are i) Nicolwain Ltd and Trevor Newman, Richard West, Michael Lamont and ii) Nicolwain Ltd. Both licences are trading as Oddsit Bookmakers. In February 2010, both operators were formally warned and had additional licence conditions imposed by the Panel for breaching licence conditions and failing to comply with social responsibility codes of practice.
