Helen Walton, who chaired Clarion’s WrB Responsible Gambling Innovation symposium (12 September, OXO2, London), has warned that the industry faces more regulation if, it fails to make the changes expected by regulators.
Thee co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Gamevy confirmed: “I think the Gambling Commision continues to be a supporter of the industry in the sense that it wants us to do better. But I also think we all agree that more regulation will come if we do not make changes ourselves, and that it will not necessarily be beneficial either to the industry to our customers or to society as a whole.”
As many of you already know I’m doing the 10 Peaks challenge (26 mile trek) this weekend in my heels (well part of it!!) – this really is a massive challenge for me as I’ve never done anything like this ever! I’m doing this trek with 25 lovely bacta members and friends. I don’t for the life of me know why I mentioned the heels, sometimes I come up with silly ideas and clearly this is one of them but it’s all for a great cause so I don’t mind. We are raising money for our charity partner Rays of Sunshine. Our partnership comes to an end with them this year so I really wanted to make sure we raise as much as we can for this amazing charity.

Leeds-based NSM Music, Europe’s biggest manufacturer of digital jukeboxes, has introduced payment plans for UK operators.
In a year that’s already seen increased jukebox sales, conversions and upgrades – plus the introduction of cashless payment – NSM believes its ‘spread the cost’ sales model will appeal right across the UK market.
All NSM Music’s jukebox models are covered in simple, easy payment plans, which start at just £18 per week plus music costs.
Sales Manager Alex Kirby says it’s another move in the company’s commitment to helping operators update their aging equipment and keep up with all the latest developments in new technology.
“We’re making upgrades possible and new jukeboxes affordable, with competitive pricing and payment plans,” added Alex. “We’re continuing to do what we’ve always done well, combining great customer service with outstanding products.”

Well we are over half way through the challenge series we set out to complete in 2017. So far we have covered 72 miles over 4 events, tackled over 250 obstacles, jumped into Lake Windermere, skips full of ice, flooded quarries and reservoirs, climbed, crawled, scrambled and slogged! Up next on Saturday 2nd September awaits mighty Mount Snowdon and the infamous Man v Mountain race! 22 miles from sea level climbing 5050 ft before descending into Llanberis and tacking the vertical KM, quarry swims and an abseil into the lake! It earns its tag line ‘Brutal but Beautiful’! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA2kD1ybj1w
Following directly on from Man v Mountain on the following weekend we will warm down with Tough Mudder North West followed a week later by Bacta’s Rays of Sunshine 10 Peak Challenge covering 26 miles in the unforgiving landscape of the beautiful Peak District. The next few weeks are going to be really tough and will push us to the limit but we are up for it and will do our utmost to complete the ultimate series!
So far we have managed to raise almost £4000 for Rays of Sunshine and have just over £1000 to go to hit our target. Every penny raised goes directly to help grant magical wishes for children with life limiting conditions. Our miles and your £1’s helps to create smiles for the children and their families and loved ones! It’s worth every blister, bruise, aching muscle and ounce of sweat to know we are raising much needed funds for such a fantastic cause. Please show your support and donate if you haven’t already done so. Thank you so much.
Team Muddy Hell Fire salutes you!

The list of ingredients making up Britain’s ideal pub were compiled by market researchers YouGov Omnibus from a survey of 2,113 adults. It confirms what the jukebox sector has long avowed, that music, be it live or background is very important to the pub-goer.
Some ingredients might seem a little strange – bookcases, Victorian architecture and tankards, for example? Others more understandable – (27 per cent would prefer a ban on kids!). Good to know that pool tables and fruit machines made it onto the list – just!
