GBA ST bill acceptor series ready for new €5

AstroSystems Ltd, suppliers of market-leading currency validation products, are pleased to announce the formal release of a software update that allows acceptance of the new 5 Euro note, which is due to enter circulation in early May.

The timing of the update, which applies to both the GBA ST2 and ST1+ models, will allow machine manufacturers, operators and service centres to upgrade existing field units in good time for the release of the new banknote. A number of straightforward methods can be used to overwrite existing software files, such as USB flash drive reprogramming, and PC-based procedures utilising AstroSystems’ range of user-friendly software tools. All future orders will be loaded with the new software file as standard.

Debbie Malin, General Manager for AstroSystems, commented: “We are pleased to provide a solution for all of our customers that gives ample opportunity to update their field base of units, prior to release of the new 5 Euro note. In addition to being a timely software release, it is also a highly secure and reliable one, incorporating our cutting-edge NexST neural network software development process. ”

Further updates for GBA HR1 and HR1+ models will be available within the next week.
