Ramsgate’s Pleasurama To Become Temporary Fairground?

Ramsgate’s Pleasurama could become a temporary fairground this summer and autumn following an application for a temporary change of use.

The derelict site has stood empty for 20 years and used to be home to a variety of amusements before a fire destroyed it in 1998.

Now the site is being developed by Blueberry Homes Ltd., which submitted the application this month but no decision has yet been made by the council.

The design and access statement submitted alongside the application reads: “It is felt this intended temporary use to this area could help generate additional footfall and business to Marine Esplanade, as well as to Harbour Parade. This currently would be for the forthcoming summer and autumn seasons only. It is not intended for this to become a permanent attraction, but would help by providing seaside attractions for the 2018 season. It would also help to screen the ongoing development of the remainder of the site.”
